Tbilisi is an ancient city, one of the most beautiful places in the Caucasus region and it is a great tourist destination with many attractions, wonderful restaurants, shopping and vibrant nightlife. Tbilisi is safe and Georgia is a very tourist-friendly country.

Citizens of most countries do not need a Visa to come to Georgia as tourists.

If you need a Visa, it can be easily obtained online for tourist purposes (e-Visa) at www.evisa.gov.ge website.

National currency is Georgian Lari (GEL), which is about 3 GEL for a US Dollar. Most international currencies can be easily exchanged in banks and street exchange offices. Shangri La Casino Tbilisi has the currency exchange cash desk where you can change almost any currency into lari with a balanced rate if you intend to buy chips. All major plastic cards are widely accepted including Shangri La Casino.

Tbilisi International Airport is about 20 minutes away from the city center. Average taxi drive from/to the airport costs 30-50 GEL. Average taxi service within the city is about 10 GEL.
